"Heart to Heart Angels" is a nonprofit charity organization brought to life on December 31st,1999, by Barbara Fiore, retired R.N. After many hours of clicking with the wonderful little mouse, I came to the realization that Massachusetts, Boston specifically, did not have an organization devoted to helping parents of infant death. That's how "Heart to Heart Angels" was born. Little by little a base was established, and by six months, thoughtful compassionate women across the country were sewing, knitting and crocheting for "Heart to Heart Angels". Because I felt "burial gowns" to be harsh to the ear, I renamed them "Angel Dresses". In Boston, we donate to the neonatal intensive care units of the Floating Hospital, (a part of the New England Medical Center), and the renowned Children's Hospital. Recently, we added the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham to our list of hospitals. It is my hope to add on as time goes by, but I can do this only with your help. My secret wish is to have angel dress, bonnet and small blanket sets available at all times. The nurses and secretaries have been unbelieveably kind and helpful to me, in every way possible. On each of my visits, they marvel at the beauty of the garments.

Most hospitals allow the Moms and Dads to feed their preemie babies when possible. During this beautiful time together the babies are wrapped in our blankets. Those babies who are not blessed with the "gift of life", will be offered the blanket to take home and cherish. Some prefer using the blanket to wrap the baby for burial. Since the inception of "Heart 2 Heart Angels", I've received many letters from mothers telling me what a difference our "angel dresses" meant to them. Then there are uplifting letters from mothers whose "preemies" are now teenagers and want to help because of what might have happened. They all write with grateful thanks for the selfless work,"Heart 2 Heart Angels" accomplishes.

My dream is to see that as many neonatal units as possible are supplied with "angel dresses", so that no baby is handed to it's Mom and Dad for their final goodbyes, dressed only in an undershirt and diaper. You can make a difference. Will you please help?
